Reflections 3

It is fun to be able to shoot water reflections, so I tried various settings. This is ‘mirror’ that I introduced last time. I made the image a little too bright and the reflection became clearer than the original.

Adjusted the wavelet size from zero to make it a bit realistic. Incidentally there was no cloud. It seems that the sky color was reflected on the water. I had better adjust the water color.

This is the default setting that seems to be the most natural. Linden is not bad at all. The adjustment of water surface might be considered as one of special effects. But I have not been able to master so many adjustments. I envy Yana and Mizuki for utilizing various settings effectively.

Reflections 2

I had a chance to talk with Yana and Mizuki, famous photographers about reflections. I was happy to know that Yana used the same way as I did to shoot water reflection.

I order to set water reflection, go to World→Environment Editor→Water Presets→New Preset→Reflection, then set all three numbers for Reflection Wavelet Scale to zero, set Fresnel Scale, Reflect Scale Above and Reflect Scale Below to zero, set Blur Multiplier to 0.5, and finally adjust Fresnel Offset to suitable value around 0.5. If the result is satisfactory, save it under a new name (ex., mirror). The settings will return to default by closing the window. If the window is an obstacle, minimize it. To use the setting, go to World→Environment Editor→Water Presets→Edit Preset, and select ‘mirror’.

Note that this setting is only visible to you, wavelet is not eliminated completely, and shadows are not included in the mirror image. The church on the right is now in a shadow of mountain, but that in the image is getting the sun.

Photo contest

For a change participated in a photo contest held at Edo SIM. The theme was Hot Spa. This one was my favorite picture. These oil drums were also ‘hot spa’ but I did not use this one because this might not be suitable for spa. Another reason was that I retouched the kinked line of the edge of igloo.

Node was acceptable, so I thought I could do too

Only one work each, so I submitted like this. No retouch, as shot, with black skin that I used in my blog several times. The pose is the one at the spa. It was joy to shoot ever changing steams and pose.

Dance at Baba

Dance party is held at Baba every Saturday. Special theme will be set every week but this time was ‘arbitrary clothing’. There were gown, kimono, mini dress, costume-play and tiny, so abundant variety.

The floor that Kazumi set now also has abundant variety of colors and patterns. Sometimes fireworks will appear, and also strange things come in. This is a foam generator that spurts white cloud. Who would create such things like this? But also the person who found this is also interesting.

Yacht crash

There was a strange bug seen while practicing at Trenza Yacht Club. Eiki ran through two mooring yachts due to delayed brake (SL yachts have a command ‘moor’ to stop). It is normal to jump into air when crashed to land but this time the yacht stuck on the must of Hisanori’s yacht.

Their sails were tangled and Hiroyuki’s yacht almost capsized as Eiki’s one dropped.

Hisanori tried to release by sailing out but the other follows. The one running around them is me doing as paparazzo. It was hard to take SSs while controlling yacht. This cloud be the first onlooker in the year of horse. (Yajiuma, onlooker in Japanese means looking-horse and the zodiac sign this year is horse.) They were detached soon but it was a bad day for Eiki who froze and dropped often. Eiki’s head looks strange but that is because of wrong position of his horse mask. There is yacht practice meeting every Wednesday at Trenza Yacht Club. Please join!
