Imogen and the Pigeons 3

This time I will go all the way to the end. Generally I am following the poems, but there will be my own interpretation that may be different from the original intent. So please visit the original. And the scale and space feeling of this art cannot be depicted by small pictures in my blog.
The place reached after a fall is a sewing room with manikins and sewing machines. Imogene tried to sew a dress to become a pigeon.

Outside of the window is a wall of the hospital. Pigeons flew away.
We can feel acrophobia here too while walking on the wall searching the next exit.

I thought that the artist also made this rope walk-able, and it was correct. On the way, there is a doll as a free gift. Some doll is not free.

Jump down from scaffolds one by one or all at once. There was a beauty salon on the street. Amid of the room, Imogene was singeing feather to hair.

Flew out from the salon into a dark street. Pigeons flew away again and Imogen fell to the ground.

Through the gate, it is a white world in complete contrast with the dark path, so white that my dress looked dark. I thought it could be possible to walk across, but I dropped.

Came to a high shelf over a deep hole. If you step out without looking down, you will fall to the bottom directly.

It seems possible to walk down one by one, but again I fell down.

A figure that looks like Imogen with pigeon costume, but she might not be able to fly freely.

The goal is an opposite side of the starting point. The whale that was on the cover of the book she read hundred times brought back her child. She jumped up to receive the baby without using wings. Could this be the happy ending? Is this real or still in her mind?
Thank you Bryn for the wonderful and joyful 3D art!

Imogen and the Pigeons 2

There is only one teleporter that is at the entrance, and the rest is a single pass like a labyrinth, passing through doors or holes. There is no branch or dead end, but if you are not accustomed to games or treasure-hunt, it could be difficult to find the exit to the next stage.

The situation is a world where people’s lives are recorded just before they die and saved them for the time when they may be “installed” into something else so they may live again. Imogen’s life is preserved still and has been for centuries. Her life was a sad one where she lost her child and ended up dying alone in a psychiatric ward. Now her desire is to go out into wide space where she can get her child back. This is the hospital where she was. There are many patient rooms. There are various patients, a boy drawing things he longed for most with a chalk to wash them out at night, a lady curing up under a blanket waiting for someone to join her, a girl wishing to be a paper boat floating on the sea, or a man dreaming of amber that trapped ant.

This room is named as “The Safe Room”, but one of the walls is transparent from the other side. There is an unmaidenly solo pose ball set on the bed, but someone may be looking at you.

Imogene was lying on a bed, but she sneaked out through a ventilation duct in order to join her pigeons and came to a room of her mind. This room could be inside of her mind. There is a poem on the wall but if you come too close you will fall to the next stage. Need to read it from distance.

There is a poem presented in each room. This one was at the above room.

Imogen and the pigeons

Visited “Imogen and the pigeons“ by Bryn Oh. This is a full SIM art, a story of a lady named Imogen that proceeds through many stages like a huge labyrinth. The blocks stuck together are rooms and pathways。
Immersiva: http://slurl.com/secondlife/Immersiva/40/105/24

There are three ways to get the entrance. One is to climb up this spiral ladder. In order to go through without stepping out, rather high-class PC may be required. The artist said that there was one person who complained bitterly that I didn't create a work which would accommodate his very old crappy computer. But Bryn answered in the explanatory note, “So for anyone whose computer is run by a hamster on a wheel this build might not be for you. It was challenging for me to determine the right balance for the artwork in it being too difficult or easy to navigate.”

The second way is to step on the floating blocks that will appear and disappear according to progress. It is insecure to find the correct direction in which the next block will appear, but it could be OK if you go ahead with confidence. The artist said, “That is really interesting because we get a fear of heights just by looking at our computer screen and associating with our avatar.” I got over acrophobia in SL, but my heart raced while climbing up.

At the last part, you should go through this narrow ramp. The catwalk on the left is the route from the spiral stairway. Bryn said, “I was thinking that if I could create an early emotional response then that might allow the viewer to better interact emotionally at later stages, since their emotions have already been heightened and the immersion has begun.” I was hooked completely.

For people who are not good in climbing, there is a flying chair. It is easy to get the entrance by driving this.

This is the entrance. It took a while to reach to this stage, although I enjoyed it. This art could be consisting of three phases. First is to find the entrance, next to find Imogen’s room, and then to follow the Imogen’s mind. Will go inside next time.

Cruising

Except the bugs, the cruising was enjoyable. Here is the sea opposite side of my gallery area, a nice residential zone.

A shore with large waves. This yacht was not affected by the wave and passed through it without any swaying.

Passing the SIM border is still a trouble. The yacht was stopped in a public sea when crossing a border. Medi tried to get back with motor on, but we were ejected to other place with nothing but sea and moon. Map showed that this is out of any SIM. This time we were together. Only two of us on a yacht under moonlight. This could have been more romantic situation…

Parallel world

Mediadream the landlord of my gallery took me out to yachting. The yacht was old SC35 that I have too. It is common to cause flying bug when crossing a SIM border.

On this day it did not come back soon and the yacht kept ascending together with rotating slowly like an aerobatic maneuver Lomcevak.

I was not dropped out and both of us were on the boat. We were not able to chat but it was possible to exchange IMs. Once I was ejected out of a jet plane flying from Europe, and at that time also it was possible to IM with the pilot and the control tower.
Flight in SL: http://temisirbu.slmame.com/e1071795.html

A unique situation this time was that both of us kept cruising normally on Medi’s boat according to his PC, although two of us were on the flying yacht in my PC while exchanging IMs.
We kept talking to see how far we would fly. The height reading exceeded 10,000m.

Suddenly my avatar disappeared. Medi is still on. Still we can send IM. He said my avatar also vanished from the yacht. In this picture the yacht seems to be normal but the droplet from the bow shows that the yacht is flying sideways.

He noticed that some of my clothing left behind when I vanished. The picture below were taken by Medi showing me after re-log and the clothing left there which I cannot see in my PC. He was watching the clothing flying away after a while. It was lucky that the leftovers were clothing side. This could be a combination of a residual image bug and SIM-crossing bug, but it was interesting to see both of us were in different worlds respectively.
