Gallery

Pictures from the mermaid show by Elegante Sereia are presented at my gallery now, but there are few guests so far, so here is another advertisement. The followings are pictures not included in the gallery.




This is just after cloth change in cocoons and time to hatch.




The green leaves in front are chairs for audiences.




I was asked why they are making exhibition at gallery since pictures can be easily seen through flickers or blogs more clearly. Certainly it could be better to see photos through other ways if photos are only the target, and there photos will be included in my archives in future, but I would like to show the gallery that I made myself. Also there are still composite pictures at the third floor. Please drop in.

Fixing Transparent Bug

The bug that invisi-prims become exposed with shadow ON was reported before. Although you cannot see it with your viewer settings, someone may see you as the left. If you are not using shadow to reduce lag, it is recommended to try once to see how others are seeing you by adopting shadows. In order to get shadow in FireStorm viewer, crick Avatar, Performance, Graphics, and check Advanced Lighting Model. The bug will not come with mesh shoes, but I found a way to fix it with old shoes. The left is old shoes with bug, and the right is with the countermeasure.




My countermeasure is to use the transparent socks for mesh shoes. The left is without shoes that shows foot shape. This foot should be invisible with old viewers when wearing shoes. The left is with socks for mesh shoes on. The transparent socks are included any demo for mesh shoes, so please find suitable ones for your shoes.




Boots also have the same phenomena if they have high heels as shown on the left. The right is with the transparent socks on. Other viewers may have the same trouble with shadow ON.




Since the foot shape was painted white, the foot looks as shown on the left. The right is with the transparent socks. ‘Invisi-prim’ seems not to be with alpha channel but to hide the object behind. This may not be effective with the newer viewers and the foot shape may be visible with shoes on.




There are other types of transparent socks such as shown on the right that erases whole foot. This can be used for boots. The right shows the situation with lower boots detached. All shoes shown in this blog are not mesh but old types.




Platform sandals is OK without transparent socks, but for open-toe heals it is necessary to find transparent socks without erasing toes. Toes are vanished on the right but it is better than the left, so I will use this for right now.

RPG Ialand

There are many RPG SIMs in SL. They could be broadly categorized into two groups, simulation/adventure and battle. Final Fantasy and Hogwarts might be the former, and street fighting or zombie hunting, the latter. In both cases normally the stage/world was established beforehand. But thia Zolio was started as an island destroyed by a storm and dragons, and the island as the stage will be created in the process. This is another category that I have not ever seen. There had been an island for medieval role-play SIM. Is this a renewed one after a disaster?

In the camp, fences have been finished and many new tents were set. The wrecked ship that I was on was cleared away. Also there are some kind of castles and forts, and a small wheat field. I am looking forward to watching the progress. The below is an article when this RPG was started one month ago.

One of entrances to caves that may not be found without advice. Some caves are for residence and some might be the dragon’s nest.



There might be another category of RRG, reproduction. It is to reproduce real or virtual world of movies or games and to enjoy the atmosphere through the characters. Western World and Pandora could be this. In this case, the world was set perfectly at the beginning but there is no fixed story or object set beforehand. Edo or Venice SIM could have been this one. For us Japanese, SL itself could be a big RPG as it is. Dancing, talking, and falling in love…

Human Base

At the first time, there were satellite above the planet, human head quarter, branch base, welcome center and shopping area. In the base, there were various weapons, choppers, tanks, powered suits and morphing sets. This time the base seems to be only one here.

The front door opened automatically. A bit small but it looks like the one in the opening of the movie.




When I entered a human base at the first time, a person inside shouted, “Ugh, na’vi. Get out of here before I blast you to peace, blue thing!” Since nobody was there, I sneaked into a control room.




Simplified inside. A bit lonely. There seems to be a role play in action though.




Shooting range that was outside before. The target is a shape of Na’vi that brings out the feel.

Pandora Again

For a change visited Pandora again and found another change. This new SIM seems to be started early this year. There is only one SIM which looks a bit simplified. There is also the talk tree but the area is small and no sprite floating around. Second look found that there were some figures in the tentacles.

This is the sprite that I shot at the first time. This picture was used at the joint exhibition with Mizuki, “Out of Bounds World”. As same as Mizuki’s method, the only modifications were to cutout and add a frame. The sprite served an important role in the movie and there are many small ones drifting around the Tree.




Nostalgic luminous plants. It was easy to shoot a picture like this before, but now I have to search about a suitable place.




I met a clan she kindly guided me to various spots. There are sand beach and under sea.




I asked if there was under sea in the movie and she answered it might be in the next one. It is said that there are now two sequels under production but it could be three. In those sequels, the under water world might be included.




In this third modification, the four SIMs turned into only one SIM. The big tree on the right is a family tree like a group of tree houses. Both the tree and floating rocks were made for rental space. The old articles and pictures are in the pages below.
