Water

Visited UWA Artist’s Choice 3D Art Challenge in September. The Theme is “Water”
UWA:http://slurl.com/secondlife/UWA/99/205/101

Water could be more difficult than expected as a subject of arts. Different from “perfume” or “music”, water has a practical visualization and it could rather restrict the imagination. “Evening Shore, A Living Painting” by Finn Lanzius. There are many beautiful SIMs with cool seashore, but this one might cut out the beauty of it. But beautiful seashore in SL could be an art by itself, a 3D art depicting it would be a meta-art?

“Row, row, row your boat” by Dusty Canning, who made some interesting concept before such as “Thinking outside the Box” or “Wheatfield Collection Exposed”. This is also interesting that a miniature was used. Original song says “If you see an alligator, don’t forget to scream” or “Throw your teacher overboard and listen to her scream” that I cannot see the meaning. In this art there is a waterfall and he has to row toward upstream forever, different from the original lyrics. Or is this also depicting a life as the original song?

This time the setting of the site is also interesting. Sofas at the entrance. I would like to have one.

A full view of the site. Since the theme is water, all arts were set on the water, but you cannot walk on the water.

There are many objects under the water, so I erased the water with Ctl+Shift+Alt+7. It could be some play to delete water from an exhibition of water.

Taiga2

Next morning, there are many peoples gathered together at the camp site. Most of them cannot speak English and chat was in Russian. I used a translator but it was hard to catch up.
Taiga: http://slurl.com/secondlife/Pyramid/223/190/27

A macho male and a camera woman with half-exposed hip. The below is a couple still staying in the tent. Like beautiful girls who I saw at a party in Russian SIM, large eyes, soft and large lips and small nose. Could it be an ideal beauty in Russia? They were talking in Russia but they came from Russia, Ukraine, Germany and other countries.

There was a strange avatar. I had meant to ask who this was but there was a limitation in translator and also it would not make meaning if the name was told in Russia. The owl was also an avatar. There was mouse held in beaks

Since I was not able to follow the chat, I returned to the lake. It is gorgeous to make a full SIM as a forest and do camping in it, but does anyone who is really living in taiga want to do the same in SL? Or taiga could be a heartthrob or mecca for them? Anyway I enjoyed it fully on the weekend.

Taiga

For a wonder there was a guest from Russia at Baba Meeting Area. He said that he was a pilot for Russian air force and is living in Taiga where there is no lake within 15 miles around his house. I visited a SIM that he introduced. It is not like tropical rainforest but coniferous forest getting much sunlight.

The blow is taiga shown in Wikipedia. Taiga is boreal forest in Russia and Canada. There is big difference in temperature and extreme minimums in the taiga are typically lower than those of the tundra and the lowest temperature in the Northern hemisphere were recorded in the taiga of Russia.

A whole SIM is made for the forest, and there are extended non-accessible forest around the SIM that gives a feeling of huge forest. There is only one house in this land. This kind of green house can be seen in other places but it gives special feeling in this space.

Lakeshore at dusk. The gentleman who introduced here did not say whether he is living in taiga in RL or SL, but since there is a lake here, it might be RL.

The forest became dark at night. It is interesting to see the moonlight reflection on the lake looks different than that at my home.

There was a camp site nearby, so I crept into a tent. I will stay the night although I feel lonely…

Apache pueblo

The Indian girl whp was sitting by the encounter of the marshal and outlaw brought me to the pueblo of apache. She said there were twenty five residents here. It might be a magnificent view when all of them are sitting on the array of cushions.

The macho man is a war chief. He is also German.

Since it was hard to shoot the dance, I did it myself later, but it looked like just jumping up and down rather than dancing. Is real dance of apache like this? The explanation of the dance ball was also German. Since there was Pennsylvania Dutch, there could be Arizona Dutch. Each cushion has the name respectively. Are they reserved seats? There may be many events going on but it is too bad that it is hard to attend due to time difference.

The pueblo from the top. It was a cliff dwelling like a relic of old indian habitation site. Since flying is prohibited, it was not easy to come to this height using ladders.

Animals

There are many animals in the RP. As a rule, an animal avatar should not talk. When together with the marshal, a white wolf came by and tried to give a message by ‘woof woof’ and gesture. He took us a hut where the hostage might be blocked in. But it is out of rule to peep inside with flying camera. Also there are many animals not manipulated as avatars. In the RL, it will be scary to come so close like this.

There was a beautiful horse and I changed into an Indian to take pictures. The white wolf became an Indian girl when I met her next time. The rule said you should not change the role in one day but it could be OK to change daily.

There was a buffalo. I came close and was attacked suddenly. The life gauge became zero within a short period. I was able to neither stand up nor move. Only I could do was to fly, although it is prohibited in the area, and groveled to a house at last, where a doctor came across who was the owner of the coach that I rode the other day. The medical treatment is only reset the number of the life gauge and no doctor play (^-^). Wild boars are also dangerous.

To tell the truth, I took the above picture later by making me exposed intentionally, but the doctor did not come this time. I found that it was possible to stand up by using ‘visitor’ tag, but when I wear the HUD at any place to follow the rule, I will hit the dust because I did not recover from the injury. I may have to stay in bed for cure period (45 minutes?) or to see a doctor.
