HUD 3, Open Mouth

In the facial expression HUD, there are many ones with the mouth open, but what I would like to see is a beautiful smiling face. These are the only two that could be said to be smiling, but the eyes of both of them are not smiling. I tried hard to modify it with Photoshop but did not get a good result.

There are some with tongue thrusted out, but there might be few occasions to do so in RL?

This is a painting using a real face. I would like to have this as a shape!

I squeezed in real faces to get smiling. Since I did some modification on the parts, it might be artificially and a bit weird, but please understand what I would like to see. Naturally it may need to move not only mouth and eyes, but also nose and cheek. It might be difficult since the cheek skin should be changed too.

HUD 2, Open Nostrils

I have complained about there was no way to move nose, but I found one in the facial expression HUD included in the free shape. But in every respect, this looks like a strange face, which I cannot find the chance to use.

The distorted asymmetrical nose is rather ugly. A bit strong eyes looks scarier.

It was cool when Vanessa Williams bit her lips and flared her nostrils while operating computer. It is a kind of shock to watch such a cute beauty doing this, which has another charm than trembling narrow nostrils. I tried to do it with avatar but didi not go well

Deka-Wanko by Kozueko Morimoto, a comic of a lady detective who has super sense of smell. I would like to see this movie with a star like Vanessa. Wanko opens her nostrils when smelling and was said, “Wow, what an ugly face!” but she never made her face strange intentionally, sorry that the Japanese drama did so. It might be cute if only nostrils were flared with normal or concentrated face…

There are many facial expressions in the HUD that I do not find the use. The below looks like the pass out game that I experienced in high school. My neck artery was gently choked. While I was acting funny playing with tongue thrusting out, I dropped into unconsciousness before I knew it. The left below may show the instant when I went with my eyes open? Different form smothering by choking the throat, there is no agony and it may result in a real death, so it is very dangerous. Also, it may cause some permanent brain damage. Naturally the nostrils open when the body required more air. The reason why it opens at the act could be some oxygen shortage as breathing tends to stop for some time during that.

These nostrils below are not moving but in the shape as the original. The right is a demo shape as is. The left was narrowed with Photoshop. With classic avatars, it might be possible to switch two shapes prepared separately as I did for closing eyes, but it could be difficult since the reading is slow now. I would like a soft trembling move, not a strange face. Would anyone make it? But anyway, a facial expression HUD is hard to use since few people notice it. Nobody noticed my new shape so far. It is natural since I do not have any steady in SL…

Shut Eye HUD

I have been accustomed to the new shape, but there is no way to get the eyes closed nicely with my free shape. The below shows the classic avatar on which I wore separate eyelids and eyelash that looks reasonable if not watching closely, but it does not work well for the mesh avatar.

With the Bento shape that enhanced texture quality, the connecting portion of the eyelid does not match and the old eyelash texture looks awkward on the new realistic skin.

The Bento head comes with eye closing animation. The below meant to be a face expecting kissing, which I have been worrying about ever since my start of SL. But with the animation of this free shape, the closed eye slants, and ends up with a grimace looks like reluctant to a kiss. In the following picture, the outer corner of the eyes was rotated down with the Photoshop.

I would wear sunglasses when going to be kissed, but there would be no more such chance in SL. In RL, he said he prefers to keep looking into each other’s eyes, that makes it possible to know the instant when I am coming to lose conscious. I might close eyes when I became limp afterward. It is said that there could be some brain damage from lack of oxygen at the choke out game, but there would be no need to worry at the time since he said I am panting ^-^.

The other necessity to shut eyes is to sleep or to die. A movie star is said to be sleeping with her eyes open, that is a bit scary. The own dead face can be seen only in SL, but it is possible to take pictures and retouch it afterward. The below shows the moment when the last air goes away together with conscious after the writhing agony. The bubbles were added with Photoshop.

The eyes, nostrils, and mouth that opened at the final gasp may gradually close together with the body becomes limp. In the net, the mouth and eyes of actual person were closed calmly. But in movies, it may be a routine to keep the eyes open, may be in order to distinguish from fainting, so this could be OK. There were few visitors to my pages with additional RL pictures showing the shut eyes, so let me introduce them again.

The biggest free gifts

The annual SL17B is now on. The theme this time might be Shopping? The image is a huge shopping mall like a big sale commemorating SL birthday. The stores inside are all huge, so the number of the shops are about two hundred, but all shops provide free gifts. At every past event of SLB, the gifts are mainly commemorative and few practical one, but this time there are many useful goods such as skins, hair, dresses, or shoes. The event is up to July 12, so do not miss it!

This is a bird’s eye view but it is impossible to cover all. This picture shows 15 SIMs, about a half of it. This time, in the main SL17B area, there is neither individual booths nor huge birthday cake, rather low-keyed festival. It was my joy to visit such booths with various innovation…

The map shows 30 SIMs used. But the shop area is only a part of them, which is about 600,000m2. The world largest shopping center is the one in China with shop area of 1,700,000m2, but that has many stories within a height of 100m and the size is 500mx400m. This one in SL has a length of 2650m, and the area is also larger than the Chinese one.

Free BENTO 2

The last one has too long nose, and my friend said like the Adams, so I gave up. This is a free gift at GENUS, together with several eyes, skins, and face animation, those are not compatible with the CATWA.

The eyes become a bit harsh, though there are some cute face in the animation. Still I do not like the closed eye line.

A bit strong face could go with this kind of clothing. With sun glasses, the nose and mouth could be said cute. I am almost satisfied exept eyes. It has some personality beyond ethnics. This might be useful.

I checked the color rendering properties at the Kikyo Memorial where I am dancing every Saturday. It becomes yellowish a little but seems OK. I will use this shape for the time being. Pleaes be frinadly as ever. At the Memorial, we are dancing every Saturday night. New guests, or old person who came back recently, please visit!

P.S. : Amazingly a formal dress also looks nice. There will be more fun with changing clothing. The rather strong eyes are also cool, like Amanda the captain in the navy who attends a dance party held by the enemy.
