Trompe-l'œil

The one at the gallery of Miss Boudicca at SL14B. I took a picture with her permission. This is the same method that Mizuki did in her popping out series, good old days ^-^

This is the one set at my old gallery. This is not “look popping out” but “really popped out”.

One of the Mizuki’s works when we did a joint exhibition. This is completely flat only with cut out and shading. Can you believe that this cherry blossom is on the same surface of the wall? Her works are all nice covering buildings, racing cars, or romantic windows. Some of them can be seen in the above page below.

The works I presented at the joint exhibition were not included in my archives so let me introduce them here. This one is with bad taste as usual but was rather popular.

I realized that it is difficult to get ideas to pop out. After trying several ones. I stared with fresh wonder at Mizuki’s technique. This is when I was jumping from Mt. Fuji where my first crush took me.

This flying elephant was my favorite when sightseeing abroad, but could be bothering the others.

Spirit at Pandora SIMs that are not anymore. There were meditation site under the family tree or colonies for various tribe, wonderful place for a stage of RPG…

SL14B

The anniversary of the SL establishment came again. As usual, it is held only for a week, until June 25.

The total area looks the same as before and there are many events, but the biggest change is the number of independent exhibition booth. There were about 360 units at SL9B, 250 at SL11B, and 180 at SL13B. There are about 140 this time. There are few free gifts and there is not so elaborate corner made by Linden.

The birthday decoration at the center was huge and bright as usual. I love this abysmally bright atmosphere, but I feel some sense of fleeting vanity, might be because of decay of SL…

For me, this could be the last SL birthday…

Busy site as usual, but this year there are few crisp buildings and it gives a feel of “thinness”. Next year, I wish a nice big 15th anniversary.

Beaming and sleeping face

Masquerade reminds me of glasses. I do not have so many but I like sunglasses in RL. But when I was wearing it in SL, someone said “Having a close look, Temi has rather strong eyes.” So were the ones behind the mask. I was told so also in RL… But other one said “Anything is accepted if both smiling and sleeping faces are cute.” In RL, I am rather clunky but someone said my smiling and sleeping are nice.

Both of them are not good in SL. As I wrote before, there is few beaming face. Changing the subject, this blog exceeded 1000 times before I noticed it. It is nothing but it may be rare to keep changing the profile pictures about 800 times. It means that I took so many self-portraits, but there is few smiling one,

As for the sleeping faces I took many ones for my gallery pictures but it ended up with ones simply closing eyes. In RL, my family said my nose changes shape when sleeping. I asked to take picture and found that my nostrils seem to become a bit narrower. Also cheeks and lips are relaxed. There is no change on avatars so it will not become a real sleeping face. There will be more change in death. Cheek, lips, tongue, and eyelid will be fully flaccid. It may be impossible to make tongue and lips limp intentionally, so it is absolutely impossible to see own dead face.

The theme this month is “hydrangea”, no editing, and size of 512x512. This one was enlarged. Since hydrangea has many colors, we became plain gray. This skin had been made for a joke but I used it many times for art shooting or photo contests. Please see an old article for other colored skins.

My friend Alha kindly let me use her room for shooting, together with a lot of hydrangea. This is practice of layout and lighting with erasing other objects. To erase is Edit-More-More-Derender-Temporary. The object will be erased only for you and come back after TP. If you choose Blacklist instead of Temporary, the object will not return until you delete it from the list.

This hydrangea is not bright and changes the color according to the environments. Bright objects are beautiful at night but the color stays the same with different lighting.

The wood in the first picture is the wall paper of the Alha’s room that fit well with somewhat dark image of the hydrangea. I used the sunset setting for the shooting.
