Edo Pictures

My gallery will be closed as of October end. Recently I do not log-in often, so old pictures are presented at my gallery. When the Edo SIMs were closed, there was a big photo exhibition and I also presented about eighty pictures. Now some of them are posted.

Out of many Edo pictures, I would take this one for choice. This is a year-end party in front of Edo castle. The attendants were dancing voluntarily with own clothing. The moment I felt happiness of being a resident of Edo.

Please see the article below for the map of Edo twelve SIMs the way they were.

New archives

Following the change of my gallery exhibition, pictures of Maihime were moved to my archives. Do not mention that it was better if they were put here at the first time…

Gallery closing

As a process to graduate from SL, I will close my gallery within this year. I have done thirty seven exhibitions so far. Thank about one thousand cumulative guests. Some of them (not many though) visited every exhibition. Until this year end, I will put some old pictures, facial portraits this time. These are beautiful but my favorite ones and may be biased. The third floor is still for “To be Free” but it will be changed in the course of time.

Mandelbrot

Last time I wrote that I have done almost all things that I can do in SL, but someone advised that I have not done animations. Sure there are many cool machinimas in contests by LEA or UWA along themes with social meaning, science fiction or fantasy utilizing SL special functions.

But I went in for photographs in RL but am not good at motion pictures. I have used video camera only for checking my tennis swing. I love to watch them though and I watch YouTube often. Some of them are good in picture qualities. I save favorite URLs now there are about 1500 items in my list. I cannot possibly do the same way, so I hands off. Among them, let me introduce one. Please look at the URL below for the explanation about Mandelbrot.
Mandelbrot set: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mandelbrot_set

The Mandelbrot set is the set of complex numbers Z(n+1)=Zn^2+C that does not approach infinity. There is a free soft to generate this figure in the URL below. It is possible to zoom any place you want. The zoom speed and iteration can be controlled by arrow keys. My PC can display up to about 600 iterations that reaches 10^17 that was roughly measured by a scale.

The colors show the calculation cycle needed to judge if the number approaches infinity or not. Where to look at and how to set the colors will be the key to make it as an art. The motion picture I would like to introduce is “2010 Mandelbrot Odyssey”, that shows nice matching with the music. If you feel dizzy, please jump to the end. Sorry that this article is not related to SL, but this could be another kind of virtual world.
