After a long interval, I ran into an art SIM, Tejano Tech that is a part of the University of Texas at San Antonio (UTSA). There are many presentations by various artists. I was not able to find any explanatory note for the arts, so I cannot see the title or background, but I found several famous names who took an active part at UWA and LEA projects.

There is a free-ride glider by Ballyhoo for flying around freely, bit it was hard to shoot SS while flying.

It looks like the glider by Wright Brothers. It can be controlled freely, but the sitting posture is awesome.

An art by Artistide Despres. In slowly rotating cubes, a figure is dancing passionately.

Beside the moving pictures, it might be interesting to see a snap shot that cut out an instant of a pitching and tossing object. While searching photo opportunities, I took snapshots tens of times.

The body with specular reflection has an athlete type shape that is my dream. It could be seen in the movie “The Terminator”. I looked for the mirror skin, but was not able to find. If it were possible to put on an avatar, please let me know.

Shooting Shadow
At an art SIM, I wore a wedding dress to match the situation, but when looking side, was surprised to see that may silhouette was nude. So, I went to a sunshiny island to shoot shadows. The gap at my foot is due to the Linden shadow setting that makes clearance at the contact point to the ground, not I am floating. That phenomenon can be seen on a tree shade.

Some dresses provide shadow and some, does not. It is OK with these kinds of normal gown.

It should be natural that a transparent part does not create shadow like shown in 1, but the shadow becomes almost vanished if the dress has some transparency like 2. I tried to change the transparency and found that 11 or under will provide black shadow, and 12 was the limit that makes a jump into almost transparent.

Even with a black dress, there is no shadow if the texture transparency was set 12 or more. 5 and 6 are wearing a long skirt with the same color under the dress. 7 and 8 are without the under skirts. The shadows in the 3 and 4 show the long under skirt. Normally a prim skirt is used together with a skirt with the same texture in order not to expose legs.

In order to avoid the nude silhouette, it is needed to set the transparency of the dress 11 or less, or to use a long under skirt with some flare. There is a shadow of the hair but the vail does not provide any shadow. It might be rare to go out under the sun with fully dressed up, but it is good to be careful when shooting memorial photos outside.
