Alone in the snow
Feel lonely since there is no person except figures. I am OK normally but feels stronger in the snow.

In the bright sunshine, it is joy to walk around the snow forests, enjoying beautiful snowscape.

But the atmosphere drastically changes at night. Since this is SL, no need to be scared by anything appearing. But I would be astounded if some large matters jumped out suddenly.

It is silent in the town too. Most houses do not light lamps, that might be character of SL housing.

Lonely under a street lamp in the snow. In Japan, a snowman was made of two balls.

n an abandoned sleigh, really feel that nobody is sitting next to me.

There was a fine church. I dressed up in front of it. There would be many people here in Christmas?

Let it snow
Snow season is soon, but my area does not have snow. So, I visited snow towns in SL.

A snowman and reindeer come together with snow. I would like to make such a big man once.

There are many giants in Northern towns? I am not so small though.

Nice couple looking down the town. I became a large girl with more than 2m height, but looks like a child^-^

A figure with nice smile. There are many figures in this town, unfortunately they do not move.

It should be cold outside, but their smiles are so warm. All figures in this town look cozy.

Santa Claus just came out of a bar, after a short break? He will be busy next month.

The City & The City
My friend Miruru advised me that it is hard to visit the spot of my pictures in the blog. Actually, I felt difficulty many tomes in visiting the photo spots later. Surprisingly I found that this Tokyo was made of two cities, one in the sky and one on the ground.
Tokyo in the Sky: http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/SSOC/183/250/1105
Tokyo on the Ground: http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/SSOC/90/183/29

Most of the spots I introduced were on the ground. I visited this beautiful bank many times but I was not able to find it this time! The LM in these SIMs may be restricted to some designated spots, most of them are set in the sky automatically.

The city on the ground can be reached from the sky by touching this signboard, pointed by SSOC PRO. The altitude of this LM says 28(ground), but the spot reached is at 1104(sky), that makes it confusing.
SSOC PRO: http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/SSOC/178/209/28

Another way to move is to follow this sign, both of them I found newly this time and had never used before, I moved back and forth between two cities without noticing it.

Following the sign and passing through a wall gap, you will come to the bottom side of the city. Then jump from here to reach the ground.

The drop site was near the bank. If you are riding Segway or something, you can avoid the disgraceful pose. I am using the Double Crick TP (DCTP) while walking around, that is to double crick on some spot to move instantly. Here, the landing spot changes according to the area. In the sky, it works normally, but on the ground, it depends. Near the original landing spot on the ground, it brings me back to the start, but when doing it other area, it takes me to the sky. Even in the sky, DCTP on the road a bit away from the sign board will take you to the ground. This is the way that I used without noticing it.

Tokyo Sightseeing
Tokyo SSOC: http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/SSOC/90/183/29
I looked around the realistic Tokyo SIMs that I found last time. This intersection could be found at any place in Tokyo! I walked down into a subway station, which has a name of this SIM, SSOC.

In the station, there were underground passages, ticket booth, entrance gate, and kiosk, made realistically. Above the ticket window, there is a real, notorious route chart of Tokyo transportation network. The dimention is out of scale, so it is hard to find a desirable line or transfer station to be used, even for Tokyo residents.

Some station has a train staying, but it is not moving and the tunnel ends at the end of platform. In some European SIM, there was a tunnel connected to the next station, where some people were surprised to see me walking out of the tunnel.

Surprisingly there was “Test Shooting Center” in the station, with a machie gun. This never can be in Tokyo.

Most of building interiors were not made in detail, but some has a cool spot where I would love to take a lunch,

There are many vacant rooms in buildings and few shops. The best way to enjoy this SIM could be walk around the beautiful streetscape of Tokyo made over three SIMs, with something like Segway.

As shown in the aboce picture, Segway can use elevated walkways as is, and can go into the end of small alley.

This Segway is more than 15 years old but so cool to be able to fly with the wheels folded. It can speed up or fly over buildings. But be careful that flying is prohibited at some spot. There was nobody on the day though^-^

Where is Tokyo?
TrustyCane who taught me the Berlin SIM is a traveler around the SL world. He asked me if there is Tokyo SIM. Freshly thinking, where is a SIM representing real Tokyo? Through the search, more than 50 places were hit by the word Tokyo. I visited every spot but most of them are shops or strange towns. This one seems to be the only straight Tokyo.

Townscape like Shinbashi or Ginza. It makes me feel as if I were walking in the real Tokyo, except that no people around.
SSOC: http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/SSOC/183/250/1105

Familiar names on the sign! I checked the area along the route 450 on Google Earth, but I was able to find neither this intersection nor the convenient store. If this was not copying the real town even partially, the selecting. combining, and organizing talent of the creator is super!

A corner that could be seen at Osaki or Shinagara, where many open-air shops open actively on the weekends.

This is also named as Tokyo, but there is no place like this in RL.
Neo Tokyo: http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Cold%20Breeze/217/129/23

This is another Tokyo. It is interesting to see a town that exactly reproduces real one, but it is also one of joys of SL to walk around a town that does not exist in RL.
Tokyo Zero: http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/TOKYO%20ZERO/26/122/2500

I felt through trips in RL that; the more realistic to make a landscape, the more it becomes an art, but it cannot compete against the real one. This is the Times Square I took in the winter. This picture consists of a lot of works and presence of many people. There is no way in Second Life to experience the walking in this area. Then what is the meaning to walk in a city in SL? That could be related to my old articles below.

Berlin Again
At the usual meeting area, a guest came from Germany, TrustyCane, who was using a good translator keeping perfect Japanese conversation. I asked him good German SIMs and visited Berlin after a long interval. The old Berlin that I visited before has been erased and this is a different one. As shown in the next picture, this is not a big town, but a construction field was set at a corner. I wonder if Berlin has many worksites and checked it on the net. They said that Berlin has been maintaining economic growth and attracting young people, with good public transportation system, low living cost, and high cultural environment. The work site could be a symbol of expanding Berlin.
Berlin:http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/New%20Berlin%20GNC/190/109/22

There is a TV tower, “Berlin Tower”. It looks a lonely figure but could be one of the sightseeing spots at Berlin. This tower was also at the old Berlin with surrounding buildings and the 360-degree observatory deck had an all-around texture of real city scenery.

The real height of this tower is 358m, much less than 634m of Tokyo Skytree, but this tower was completed in 1969, a big predecessor. In order to measure the height, I will see the coordinate difference between the top and the base, the same way to measure the length.

Maybe due to the time difference, there was no one around, but some figures were set here and there, a German style lady and young guy. As the overseas after a long time, I wore a strong-look avatar, but it was out of place, then I changed to German girl style in the above pictures.

A figure of wine steward at a game center, moving around smoothly, made a wry face to me. I hope he did not react to my outfit, but why is this kind of animation included in his program?

Three Mis-expectations
What if there is a sentense here, “All statements in this blog are false.” If this is false, the whole things should be true. This is the Mouth of Truth in Rome. If you put your hand in and say something false, you cannot release your hand. What will happen if you say, “I will not be able to release my hand.” I put the same kind of paradoxes in my previous articles. Please see the bottom of these.
My Death 4 Animal: http://temisirbu.slmame.com/e1688705.html
My Death 2 Fire: http://temisirbu.slmame.com/e1688172.html

This may not be a paradox and you can pull your hand back, because the Mouth of Truth is not real one. The guide said that this is one of the three mis-expectations in the world. It is said that the three Ms are, Mouth of Truth, Mermaid, and Manneken Pis. Neither one I can find in SL. Please let me know if anyone saw them. The picture is my avatar visiting The Mermaid in RL.

There is my avatar among the tourists. The Manneken Pis is not as beautiful as Mermaid. It is said that the reason why her legs are human instead of fish is because the leg of the model was too beautiful to be covered.

My three mis-expectation SL are Merlion, Monument of Vatican, and Mount Rushmore. The Merlion in SL is still at this SIM as five years ago. There is an old Concorde flying above.
Singapore: http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Temasek/202/145/22

The Merlion in RL might have been counted as one of the three mis expectation before, but it might be graduated from them when the bigger one was made. The figure in this picture is my avatar but it was my real photo in the old article. Has anyone noticed it?

The Vatican palace in SL was just a wall paper and it disappeared soon. This was the era when I was traveling all famous sightseeing spots in SL looking a world atlas. I missed that age… Since it was a bit scary to go abroad alone, I was mainly using a male avatar. But the shape was made myself, so someone said, “A large girl”.

This is the one when I counted it as one of the three Ms in SL.There was nither sculp nor mesh at this time. Ths one disappeared soon.

I searched this time and found a more realistic one. I had the nerve to stand on the head of Washington. Judging from my height 2m, this face seems to be full scale (60 feet).

This is the real Mount Rushmore The above SIM has almost same shape as this. This SIM is for a huge bike course from sea level to the altitude of 4000 with many landscapes including the Mt. Rushmore.

Octopussy
From my favorite page, “The world of Yana”, visited Octopussy. The symbol is octopus.
The world of Yana:Octopussy: http://yana.slmame.com/e1680661.html

A bright world like the Southern California. This looks like Laguna Beach which was also my favorite spot in RL. A scenic alameda from a restaurant on a cliff. After going around the corner, the beautiful beach comes in with a sweep of the eye,

Like a corner in the city La Jolla. The bright strong sunshine also reminds me of the Southern California.

There are many kinds of bird. A suspension bridge was also in a cave.

These herons are not moving but real and cute.

I came close and sunk in water. Second look confirmed that the feet of the heron did not reach the bottom. This is not a transfer fraud but a transferent fraud. (The Japanese word “Sagi” a bird heron has another meaning as a swindle who hard-sells a crow as a heron.)

An octopussy man. There are five tentacles for the head, and one each for hands and foot. The number does not match.

In the calm atmosphere abruptly, there was a dance corner with a DL booth. The dance ball is also shaped as an octopus.

There were numerous butterflies at the entrance of a clubhouse. The shape looks like Morpho, but it may not gather together like this. These flock could be a rare blue form of Aporia Crataegi. It should be a spectacle if these flies out all at once. This picture is using multi-exposure to increase the flying butterflies. While searching it in the net, found a cute site with a cat playing with them.
https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2168654/Life-like-butterfly-kitten-finds-field-blue-winged-beauties.html

Through the net I found that the word octopussy could be a childish expression for octopus, but there are some outrageous meanings. ^-^ One of the meanings was “diversity” that convinced me. The relaxed capacious versatility, this could become one of my favorite spots in SL.

Skate and Ski
My friend took me to skating. I have not done skating for several years in RL.

It is joy to skate in the beautiful scenery while chatting, but unfortunately the balls are fully automatic and it is not possible to move freely.

This tunnel could be the site where I took the beautiful autumn leaves before.

The old Baba skating rink. The animation is also automatic as a dance ball, but it was possible to move around freely. It was amusing to follow the leader and make pair position. It was the time when the Ina Bauer by Shizuka Arakawa became popular.

I have not gone skiing also for three years at both SL and RL. There were many ski resorts in SL. Some of them were for racing and a competition was done at Baba members.

Neither spread eagle nor such a high jump I have done in RL.

I love a powder snow. Recently the powder snow in Japan became popular among foreign tourists as “Japow”. Comparing with that at Canada, the powder in Japan might be a bit heavier and rather easier to maneuver. This is the timing that I love most. The ski pressed down now comes bouncing back to the surface, and starts rotating toward the next turn initiating a new curve. The snow powder reaches up to my shoulder at the bottom of the corner. Too bad that there is no powder snow in SL…

Winter at SL
It is cold, isn’t it? From my favorite page “The world of Yana”, visited the snow country. Curiously, Santa Claus came to an accident on the ground. The reindeers are hanging around in the back. The site is on the right of the picture below. A cub is watching anxiously from a distance.
Santa Claus in trouble: http://yana.slmame.com/e1668568.html

A car with a tree on the roof was popular in this season in America. There was an open space with an array of trees for sale. At my friend home, I was allowed to help to decorate a huge tree in a room with a high ceiling.

There was a big steam locomotive. There is no rail on this island. This is SL in SL ^-^

There is a wintry landscape outside of the SIM. It cannot be entered but a real three-dimensional scape that also shows shadow.

There was a background like this before. Buildings, trees, and other objects became well advanced recently. “There are many beautiful landscapes in the Second Life” is the title statement of the Yana’s page. For sure they became drastically beautiful, but I think they had been a stage for doing something, such as Midgal for Final Fantasy, and it was a joy to walk in the town. Also, there were many RPGs using various towns. Like the chess sets, now the purpose of SL might become not to play in it but to build itself?

But it is joy to simply walk in the snow. I do not feel cold even with this kind of outfit.

Even it is OK to do like this. If done in RL, I will become really stone cold. I could sleep away as is till spring. But does spring come for SL?
